EVENT | Report & Gallery: "Run for Children Tohoku in adidas RUNBASE 2015"

DJ Toshio Matsuura, initiator of the charity project "Run for Children Tohoku," shares his thoughts on Tohoku with the event participants at the opening ceremony.
This year marks the fourth anniversary of the event, with a record 40 participants recruited from OPENERS readers.
At the end of the symposium, Akari Kimura from Onagawa Town, Miyagi Prefecture, rushed to the venue to read her message.

On the day of the event, participants were offered a rental of adidas Japan's latest running shoe, the "Ultra Boost," with the title "Run for Children Tohoku at adidas RUNBASE 2015 25" data-src="/galleries/images/000/356/235/medium/ba7f4173-2be9-4f85-87ad-3400efa59276.jpg">

At the opening ceremony of the charity run event, Matsuura shares with the participants the feelings he received from attending the "Hatachi Fund" symposium.
The T-shirt designed for this charity run event was created by the family of Kentaro Toyama, who lives in Kawabe Town, Akita Prefecture. Mr. Toyama was born in Miyagi Prefecture and was a photographer active in Tokyo. In 2014, he moved to Kawabe Town, Akita Prefecture, which attracts artists, to re-examine the relationship between Tohoku and Tokyo. As a father, thinking about the children who will live in the future, he felt there must be something he could do. Mr. Toyama had his eldest son, Taiga, draw his feelings for Tohoku as an illustration, and incorporated it into the T-shirt along with his thoughts for the disaster-stricken areas.
