EAT | Event Report: Master of Wine & Spirits 2014

Michael Callan, a spirits expert based in Singapore, provided full backing for this collection with his specialized knowledge.
The venue chosen was the Black & White House, a designated national monument.
The residence is situated in the verdant Mount Pleasant area.
Over 400 collectors and connoisseurs, captivated by rare wines and spirits, along with brand ambassadors, attended the event.
More than 80 rare wines, champagnes, and spirits from over 65 leading distilleries were gathered, making it the largest exhibition to date.
The 'Queen's Carafe of Martel', one of only two such decanters in the world.
Harlan Estate's 'Harlan Estate 2001 Imperial', a 6L bottle of the 2001 vintage presented in a custom leather case. This marks the first time the company has offered a 6L bottle for general sale.
This year's event, themed 'The ultimate luxury is hospitality at home', was notably marked by the creative display of collections within the 1900s mansion, treated as a canvas.

The Dalmore 45 Year Old single malt, specially created for this exhibition by Dalmore Distillery.
The 'Camus Cognac Hors d'Age La Grande Marque 8.2L Decanter', presented in a unique, custom-made decanter.
Among the exhibiting brands was the familiar 'Perrier-Jouët'.
The signature anemone flowers of Perrier-Jouët were also presented in a more opulent style.
The Macallan Masters of Photography Series 4: Elliott Erwitt Edition, the fourth installment of The Macallan's renowned Masters of Photography series.
To commemorate the exhibition of 'The Macallan Masters of Photography Series 4: Elliott Erwitt Edition', which pairs photography with a special single cask malt Scotch whisky, a section of the venue was adorned with Mr. Erwitt's works.

The 'The Glenlivet Winchester Collection Vintage 1964 50 Year Old', one of the rare and precious 50-year-old whisky series, considered the origin of all single malts.

At the dinner celebrating the event, Harold Brooks, Global Merchandising President of DFS Group, offered a welcome address to the guests.
Wine critic James Suckling, along with Michael Callan, also provided full backing for this collection.
In his speech, Harold Brooks, Global Merchandising President of DFS Group, stated: 'The 2014 "Masters of Wine & Spirits" is the culmination of extensive research conducted by visiting distilleries worldwide. Providing opportunities to discover new leading global brands and to experience and enjoy their traditions, history, and craftsmanship is the value of DFS Group and the reason we are chosen by travelers around the world.'
The collection 'The Epic Dates Collection', previously available exclusively at DFS and Johnnie Walker House, made its highly anticipated debut at the event.
Johnnie Walker Ambassador Jonathan Driver shared his thoughts on the event: 'There is no other place in the world where such a remarkable collection of brands can be found. However, the greatest charm lies in maintaining a welcoming, intimate atmosphere despite the event's grand scale. Being invited to such an event is a great honor for us. Furthermore, I always look forward to engaging in in-depth conversations with the knowledgeable buyers who attend.'
The collections featured at the event are currently on display and available for purchase by the public at the DFS Singapore Changi Airport store until Saturday, February 28, 2015.
