MARGARET HOWELL | Discovering Special Gifts at Margaret Howell (FAMILY)
The rule for giving gifts is
Surprise, Humor, and Functionality
"I give things I wouldn't normally buy for myself," is my criterion for choosing presents. I also prioritize designs that bring joy upon receiving them and ease of use. From that perspective, the nail brush from Turner & Harper is exactly that. It sparks curiosity at first glance, and above all, its form is beautiful. It's a design you'll want to display in your washroom. Furthermore, the use of familiar woods like walnut and beech makes it feel approachable. Its size, which is suitable for women to hold, is also appealing. And, of course, "Made in UK" is a nice touch.
Personally, what I want the most is the ceramic tile. Since the artist makes each one individually, it's a completely unique and special item. The glaze makes it water-resistant. Even if the edge chips, I think it would age beautifully and still be usable. "Durable for long-term use" and "timeless design" are my rules for selecting items. I don't like things that are fragile and require careful handling. I prefer things I can use without worry, vigorously. I feel this tile has a depth that allows it to become even more characterful if chipped, which suits my taste.
