Junji Tanigawa | Series Vol. 4 "IMA CONCEPT STORE" Gallery

IMA CONCEPT STORE, which opened in March this year
A gallery hosting various photo exhibitions
A bookshop featuring rare photo books and small items with limited distribution
A cafe serving carefully selected, delicious coffee
This space is multifaceted, diverse, and offers multiple perspectives. After much discussion, we arrived at a truly free layout, unconstrained by architectural methodologies.
A large-scale flow is arranged diagonally across the site. The three spaces are loosely zoned. Design and function are balanced to allow for various layouts depending on the purpose.
The 'Ladder Wall,' a rotating movable partition, separates the spaces while ensuring a sense of connection.
The space transforms by rotating the wall.

The logo mark is directly adopted from the floor plan.

The furniture, a key accent in the space, is from "COMPLEX UNIVERSAL FURNITURE SUPPLY" in Meguro.
Warm wooden furniture contrasts with the inorganic skeleton.
Emphasis was placed on material texture matching the aesthetic and the height of each piece of furniture.
To evoke a sense of being at home, table heights were subtly varied by area.
There are no fixed fixtures; most furniture is movable, allowing for infinite styling possibilities that change with themes, seasons, or purposes.
When the energy of photography's value aligns with one's own wavelength, the feeling of "Living with Photography" becomes palpable.
"IMA CONCEPT STORE" is a place filled with this sentiment, embodying "LIVING WITH PHOTOGRAPHY."
