Gallary | Performance Worthy of the Name 'Jeep' | Jeep

The main road to Hakuba was cleared of snow and dry, but a step onto a side street revealed slushy snow remaining on the asphalt.
The Compass is just the right size for driving in Japan. While compact, the rear seating is more than adequate, and the cabin offers ample space and comfort for long drives from Tokyo to Hakuba without any discomfort.
On a special snow course isolated from public roads, the traction control system manages power distribution, suppressing tire slip when accelerating. It demonstrates the capability to overcome slight ruts with ease.
As indicated by its engine mounting, the Compass is a full-time 4WD based on a front-wheel-drive platform.
The engine is a 2.4-liter inline-four, producing a maximum output of 125 kW (170 PS). The current model features a 6-speed automatic transmission, replacing the CVT.
The high seating position makes it easy to gauge the car's four corners. This driving position and body design greatly assist the driver when venturing off-road.
The Wrangler, a direct descendant of Jeep's heritage, is available in both 2-door and 4-door models, the latter known as the 'Wrangler Unlimited'.
Even when driven onto a specially prepared course on churned snow, the Wrangler's off-road capability remains exceptional, unfazed by such adverse conditions.
The Wrangler is the only model in the current Jeep lineup to feature the 'Command-Trac' part-time 4WD system.
The 'Grand Cherokee,' with its refined front-end design after the recent minor change, also boasts a luxurious interior, presenting a first-class finish as a luxury vehicle.
Unlike the compact Compass, the Grand Cherokee's drive is full of gravitas. It delivers stable traction in any situation, propelling its large body forward with quiet power or robust force.
Thanks to the seat heaters and heated steering wheel, the drive through the harsh Hakuba winter roads was comfortable.
The Grand Cherokee lineup includes the 'Laredo' with a 210 kW (286 PS) 3.6-liter V6 engine, the 'Limited' with standard luxury features, and the 'Summit' equipped with the traditional 5.7-liter V8 engine.
Peering to the right of the headlights reveals the 'Willys,' the iconic Jeep model developed in 1941.
The left headlight is inscribed with 'SINCE 1941,' the year Jeep was founded.
The new Cherokee, with its more urban-inspired interior and exterior design, is set to arrive in Japan this spring.
Its aggressive exterior design, reminiscent of a bird of prey, seems poised to completely redefine the traditional Jeep image.
An advanced interior design that evokes a sense of the near future.
The second-generation Cherokee (development codename: XJ), first sold in 1984, ignited the SUV boom in Japan during the 1990s.
Jeep, which began its history in 1941 as a military vehicle for the US Army, still carries the DNA of the 'Willys,' its iconic predecessor.
