Lexus Creates Racing World's Style | LEXUS Gallery

The concept is “La Mode du Race.” Lexus and two top creators attempted to fuse the masculine world of pit stops with the realm of fashion.
Designer Tatsuya Okonogi (left) and stylist Yoshiki Shimazu (right) present a new circuit world, distinct from previous racing images, through the Lexus perspective.
The booth, simulating a race pit stop, featured a race car based on Lexus's latest sports model, the "RC F," alongside four pit crew members, a driver, and a female model.
Mannequins are difficult. Unlike a living body, they lack flesh, so the way clothes drape when they bend is completely different from normal (Shimazu).
There are five mannequins, and all the tailored pieces are hand-sewn. We commissioned a skilled artisan who also works on Eikichi Yazawa's costumes (Okonogi).
The top hat serves as the helmet; he is the driver. The crew wear white tuxedos, but we added patches to evoke the image of racing suits (Okonogi).

A race car based on Lexus's latest sports model, the "RC F." The livery design for the GT500 class vehicles in "SUPER GT," an automobile race in which Lexus participates, is primarily white for 2014.
