TAKERI is a model that fully incorporates SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and the new design theme "Kodo—Soul of Motion." The power unit is the new generation clean diesel engine SKYACTIV-D, which achieves the world's lowest compression ratio for a compression-ignition natural-fire engine. This innovative engine, with its low compression ratio, reduces the load on the engine, enabling lighter components and significantly reduced mechanical resistance. Combined with the 6-speed AT SKYACTIV-DRIVE and the idling stop system i-stop, a cruising range of 1,500 km is anticipated. Simultaneously, the "SHINARI", the concept car that first embodied the new design theme "Kodo—Soul of Motion" and serves as the base for TAKERI, was also exhibited.
Furthermore, it was announced that the new generation crossover SUV "CX-5," which fully adopts SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY from powertrain to chassis and body for the first time in a production model and features Kodo design, will go on sale next spring.
