Citroën is reviving the historic "DS" nameplate as a new lineup that "brings innovation and advancement." The aim is to achieve a sense of luxury, superior quality, and rich individuality, unconstrained by conventional notions.
The "DS3 Racing" on display is a DS3 fine-tuned with the know-how of Citroën Racing, which has achieved consecutive victories in the "WRC World Rally Championship." It features exclusive carbon parts, dedicated bucket seats, a 1.6-liter DOHC twin-scroll engine producing 207ps, along with enhanced brakes and suspension. Since its launch on September 5th this year, it has been well-received and is currently in increased production, priced at 3.6 million yen.
DS4" was launched in September this year. It is a four-door vehicle that combines the ambiance of a sedan, the comfort of a tall SUV, and the sleek design of a coupe. It is equipped with 1.6-liter DOHC twin-scroll turbo engines producing 156ps and 200ps, paired with either a 6-speed EGS or a 6-speed manual transmission. Prices start at 3.09 million yen.
The "DS5", a Japan premiere, is scheduled for release in Japan in mid-next year, with an expected retail price of around 4 million yen. It is positioned at the top of the DS line in terms of style, architecture, and driving feel. Its sculpted form, pursuing aerodynamics, the use of high-quality materials such as club leather and aluminum, and the distinctive interior featuring "watch strap" seats, reminiscent of luxury watch straps, create a unique sense of Citroën luxury.
