At the Toyota booth, President Akio Toyoda took the stage. The company's corporate slogan from the mid-80s, "FUN TO DRIVE," was revived under the banner "FUN TO DRIVE AGAIN." The next-generation lineup was complete with a plug-in hybrid Prius PHV, an electric vehicle FT-EV III, and a hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle FCV-R, demonstrating Toyota's readiness to meet diverse customer needs.
Naturally, the FR sports car 86 (Hachi-Roku), jointly developed with Subaru, also made an appearance. Its adoption of a boxer engine achieved an overwhelmingly low center of gravity, making it a vehicle that allows drivers to truly feel the joy of driving.
He also spoke about Toyota's social responsibility, stating, "We are not withdrawing from Tohoku or Thailand; we are here for the local people. The true Doraemon, who uses future tools to save friends in need, is found on the manufacturing floor."
