The 42nd Tokyo Motor Show 2011 | Subaru - Photo Impression | SUBARU
First is the "Advanced Tourer Concept," positioned as a town-sized sports wagon. It features a 1.6-liter horizontally opposed turbo engine, CVT, and Symmetrical AWD, combined with a unique lightweight hybrid system, aiming to achieve high environmental performance, practicality, and sportiness simultaneously.
The "Impreza," to be released on December 20th, is the fourth generation, arriving in its 20th anniversary year. It will be available in two types: the five-door "Sport" and the four-door "G4." Emphasis was placed on its stylish exterior, high-quality interior, and spacious cabin. The horizontally opposed engines offered are 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter, paired with the new Lineartronic transmission.
Making its world debut is the "SUBARU BRZ," a joint development with Toyota. Subaru's horizontally opposed engine is combined with Toyota's D-4S direct injection technology for even greater efficiency. By mounting the engine lower than before, it achieves excellent handling performance through a low center of gravity.
Additionally, in an area named "PROUD OF BOXTER," three types of Boxter Engines are on display: D-4S, a 1.6-liter DIT, and a diesel.
