The 42nd Tokyo Motor Show 2011 | Lexus - Photo Impression
The Lexus booth was graced by the next-generation GS and the high-performance "Nürburgring Package" version of the supersports LFA.
The GS, making its Japan debut, features the "spindle grille" as a prominent design element, signaling the future direction of Lexus design. On display were the hybrid GS450h, the sporty GS350 "F SPORT" engineered for dynamic driving, and the GS250, a concept model powered by a 2.5-liter V6 engine. Particular attention should be paid to the LDH (Lexus Dynamic Handling system) on the "F SPORT," which integrates VGRS (Variable Gear Ratio Steering) and DRS (Dynamic Rear Steering) to achieve ideal vehicle slip angles. This system enhances driving confidence at high speeds, sharpens agility in mid-speed maneuvers, and improves maneuverability at low speeds.
The LFA Nürburgring Package boasts an increased power output of 420 kW (571 ps) compared to the standard model's 412 kW (560 ps). It also features a CFRP front spoiler and rear wing, and holds the production car lap record at Germany's Nürburgring Nordschleife with a time of 7 minutes 14.64 seconds. Unfortunately, like the standard LFA, orders for this model closed in January 2010.
