<strong>BOTTEGA VENETA</strong> The Spring/Summer 2012 collection is themed around the contrast between "surface" and "silhouette." The finishes are highly elaborate and expressive, featuring layered prints, a fusion of diverse geometric patterns, and materials mixed and patched together, or re-shaped after being deconstructed. The fabrics are also varied, including printed seersucker and checks. Fine patterns and prints are rendered with a hazy finish, creating a visually deep and novel expression. In contrast to the rich "surfaces," the slim silhouettes are refined and body-fitting. The collection is characterized by a prevalence of precisely designed, unfussy suits.
