<strong>more trees×Herman Miller|More Trees×Herman Miller</strong> The 'Aeron Chair' was born in 1995. It has been supported by many people for its ergonomic, body-friendly, custom-like seating comfort and innovative design. It is a symbol of the work chair, praised as 'the world's most comfortable working chair' and selected for the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
<strong>SUZUKI Yasuhiro (Contemporary Artist)</strong><br />Born in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture in 1979. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2001. His representative works include the video installation 'The Perspective of Playground Equipment' (2001) using playground equipment, 'Blinking Leaves' (2003), and 'Air Person' (2007). In 2009, he was in charge of art direction for the public art project 'Port of Air' held at Haneda Airport, receiving the Good Design Award. He is currently working on his creations based at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo. This spring, he created the donation box 'Izumi' which will become permanent at the Hara Museum. A solo exhibition is scheduled to be held at the Hamamatsu Museum of Art in the fall.
<strong>AZUMA Makoto (Flower Artist)</strong><br />Born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1976. He has run a flower shop since 2002 and currently operates the haute couture flower shop 'JARDINS des FLEURS' in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. He is also actively engaged in international activities as a flower artist. Since 2005, he has held solo exhibitions mainly overseas, including in New York, Paris, and Germany. In 2009, he launched the experimental plant group 'Azuma Makoto Kaju Kenkyujo' to further explore the potential of plants, and is broadly active with plants as a keyword in various fields.
<strong>NAGAYAMA Yuko (Architect)</strong><br />Left Jun Aoki & Associates in 2002 and established Yuko Nagayama & Associates in the same year. Served as a part-time lecturer at Tokyo University of Science from 2006, Seika University of Kyoto from 2007, and Showa Women's University from 2008. Her awards include the Nakanoshima New Line Station Planning Design Competition Excellence Award in 2004, second place in the Tsukuba Garden City Concept Housing Competition in 2005, JCD Design Award, Encouragement Prize 'Louis Vuitton Daimaru Kyoto', L'Oréal Color, Science and Art Award Encouragement Prize 'Kaleidoscope Real', the AR Awards Highly Commended for 'a hill on a house' in 2006, and the 'Best Debutant Award' (MFU) in the architecture category in 2007.
<strong>NAWA Kohei (Contemporary Artist)</strong><br />Born in 1975. Completed his PhD (later) in Sculpture at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Kyoto City University of Arts. Associate Professor at Kyoto University of Art and Design. Since 2009, he has established 'SANDWICH', a creative platform in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, and is active in a wide range of fields from his own artwork to the au design project 'iida', album artwork, music videos, and stage sets for musicians. Winner of the 14th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh 2010 Grand Prize. In June 2011, he is scheduled to hold a solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, the youngest male artist to do so.
<strong>HAYANO Yousuke (Architect)</strong><br />Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1977. Graduated from Waseda University in 2000 and Waseda University School of Science and Engineering in 2001, then obtained a Master's degree from the AA School (London) in 2003. After working at Zaha Hadid Architects (London), he co-founded MAD with Ma Yansong in Beijing in 2004. In 2007, he established MAD Tokyo in Tokyo. He currently serves as a part-time lecturer at Waseda University School of Science and Engineering and The University of Tokyo. In 2006, he received the 'Young Architects Award' from the Architectural League of New York, won first prize in the 'Toronto Absolute Tower International Design Competition', and won first prize in the 'Sino Steel Headquarters Building Design Competition'. Projects currently underway include the Toronto Absolute Tower (Toronto), Ordos Museum (Inner Mongolia), Sino Steel (Tianjin), and Miyahara Residence (Kumamoto).
