Boulangerie Copain - The basket on the right holds the "Baguette Nature," a signature item made with a long fermentation process to fully bring out the flour's natural flavor. The "Baguette Céréale" on the left is a fragrant baguette with grains like flaxseed, millet, and foxtail millet. The "Baguette Nature" is baked three times a day from opening. "Baguette Nature" ¥231 each, half ¥115. "Baguette Céréale" large ¥210, small ¥105.
Boulangerie Copain - "I started this bakery because I love making bread, but I also enjoy interacting with customers because I can get their immediate reactions," says Chef Chikako Ikeda with a friendly smile.
Boulangerie Copain - "Fig and Gorgonzola" is made with natural yeast sourdough, filled with white figs and gorgonzola cheese, brushed with honey, and baked. The aroma right after baking is incredibly enticing. ¥210 each.
Boulangerie Copain - "Matcha Azuki Milk" is a Japanese-style bread made with rustic dough containing adzuki beans, filled with matcha milk cream. Its moderate sweetness makes it a popular item. ¥189 each.
Boulangerie Copain - Various types of bread are lined up in a small glass showcase. Many items incorporate the chef's favorite ingredients, such as beans, pumpkin, and sweet potato.
Boulangerie Copain - Among the many offerings are unique breads like "Bacon Mochi Cheese," which features an unexpected combination of ingredients.
Boulangerie Copain - The shop is small, fitting only a couple of people. Bread is constantly being baked beyond the glass door, filling the entire space with the wonderful aroma of freshly baked goods.
