<br>The engine is a 4.4-liter V8, already proven in the B7. Forced induction via a radial compressor delivers an overwhelming 537 ps and 725 Nm of torque.
<br>The B5 S, based on the BMW 5 Series, pursues speed and luxury through ALPINA's unique approach. Like the 5 Series, it is available in two types: Limousine (sedan) and Touring.
<br>Paired with the 4.4-liter V8 engine is the SPORTS SWITCH-TRONIC, jointly developed by ALPINA and ZF. While automatic, its manual mode offers shifts in a mere 0.1 seconds.
<br>The large-diameter tires, 245/35ZR20 front and 285/30ZR20 rear, are managed by an electronically controlled damper (EDC) co-developed with SACHS. This achieves ALPINA's signature dynamic and neutral handling.
