<br>Announced in the summer of 2007 in Japan as Audi's first mid-engine sports car.
<br>It is a premium sports car that inherits the name of the racing machine "R8," which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans five times.
<br>The chassis is constructed with Audi Space Frame (ASF), a highly rigid and lightweight aluminum body used only in luxury and high-performance vehicles.
<br>The body shell weighs just 210kg.
<br>Length 4435mm, width 1905mm, height 1250mm. The wheelbase, the distance between the axles, is 2650mm.
<br>The engine is mounted ahead of the rear axle, setting the axle load distribution at 44% front and 56% rear.
<br>The drivetrain is Audi's renowned Quattro full-time 4WD system.
<br>It accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. The top speed is 301 km/h.

<br>Since the engine is located behind the cabin, the trunk is in the front. It has a capacity of 100 liters.
<br>It produces 420 ps of power at 7800 rpm and 43.8 kgm of torque between 4500 and 6000 rpm.
<br>The flat-bottomed steering wheel is sporty. Behind it are paddles for manual shifting up and down.

<br>The transmission is a clutchless 6-speed sequential gearbox called "R tronic." In addition to automatic and manual modes, it features a launch control function for optimal starts.
