Lyndon Neri & Rossana Hu of Neri & Hu, mentors for the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2016." Based in Shanghai, they co-founded Neri & Hu Design and Research, an interdisciplinary practice that works on a wide range of projects, bringing new changes to architecture. Their approach to each project involves understanding diverse cultural and social issues and designing based on thorough research.
Max Lamb, a furniture and product designer and mentor for the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2016." He is highly acclaimed for his delicate designs, born from his extensive knowledge of creation, passion for materials, and solid craftsmanship. While teaching at the Royal College of Art in the UK, he regularly holds design workshops for companies and institutions worldwide.
Elena Manferdini, a mentor for the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2016," designs in architecture, interior design, planning, and graphics. Based on the realization that "contemporary architectural endeavors transcend the boundaries of traditional architecture," she approaches each project with an understanding of diverse cultural and social issues and designs based on thorough research.
Snarkitecture, a design duo and mentor for the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2016." Founded in 2008 by Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen, they continuously pursue new challenges in art and architecture. They are the founders and owners of Atelier Manferdini, based in California, USA. They have undertaken various projects in design, art, and architecture across the US, Europe, and Asia, including the pavilion for the Museum of Contemporary Art Los Angeles (MOCA). They are also known for their collaborations with global companies.
"Sense-Wear," the Grand Prix winning work of the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2015." This is clothing and accessories that enhance and sharpen various senses when worn.

"ANIMAL MASKS" by Keita Ebizuka, an award-winning work from the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2015" for which a prototype was created. These are masks incorporating digital devices that allow users to experience animal abilities.
"Diomedeidae" by Daiki Nakamori, Adriano Alfaro, and Gaetano Mirko Vattiero, an award-winning work from the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2015" for which a prototype was created. This is a mobile that emits light while generating electricity through its own flapping motion.
"LUZ" by Marina Melad Mendieta, an award-winning work from the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2015" for which a prototype was created. This is a delicate lighting system that changes in response to natural weather conditions.
"INSTAMP" by Yuzo Atsu, an award-winning work from the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2015" for which a prototype was created. This is a silicone stamp whose typeface changes depending on the pressing force, angle, and number of times it is used.
"Iris," an award-winning work from the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2014." This hand-blown glass lamp, made of crystal and inspired by soap bubbles, emits various colors of light depending on the angle of illumination. It is an inspiring lighting piece.
Sebastian Scherer, the creator of "Iris," an award-winning work from the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2014." Based in Berlin, he received new funding after the award and launched his own product brand, "NEO/CRAFT." The "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD" served as the initial step in creating this opportunity.
Paola Antonelli. Since 1994, she has been working at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, where she currently serves as the Director of Research and Development and is also a Senior Curator in the Department of Architecture and Design. Her goal is to broaden the understanding of design's global influence until it is widely recognized, and she has spearheaded several special exhibitions on contemporary design.
Aric Chen, a juror for the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2016." Originally from the United States, he works as an independent curator and writer in New York, contributing to publications such as The New York Times. He served as the Creative Director for Beijing Design Week in 2011 and 2012 and is currently the Lead Curator for Design and Architecture at M+, a new museum of visual culture in Hong Kong's West Kowloon Cultural District.
Toyo Ito, a juror for the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2016." After graduating from the Department of Architecture at the University of Tokyo, he began his career. He has since received numerous awards, including the Architectural Institute of Japan Prize, the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale, and the Pritzker Architecture Prize. His notable works include "Sendai Mediatheque," "Tama Art University Library (Hachioji Campus)," and the "2009 Kaohsiung World Games Main Stadium (Taiwan)."
Birgit Lohmann, a juror for the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2016" and Editor-in-Chief of "designboom." Born in Hamburg, Germany, she studied industrial design in Florence and worked based in Milan, collaborating with leading Italian architects and designers on design and product development. She founded "designboom" in 1999 and is active as an educator and exhibition curator.
Alice Rawsthorn, a juror for the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2016." She works as a design critic and writer for The New York Times International Edition and the art magazine "frieze." Her weekly design column is published in media outlets worldwide. She serves on the boards of the Whitechapel Gallery and Michael Clark Company, and is a senior trustee of the Chisenhale Gallery.
Tokuo Fukuchi, a juror for the "LEXUS DESIGN AWARD 2016." After graduating from the Faculty of Art and Design at Tama Art University, he joined Toyota Motor Corporation's design department in 1974. He served as General Manager of Design and President of Toyota Europe Design Development before becoming President of Lexus International in April 2014.
