CHANEL introduces the "Mademoiselle Privé Pincushion" collection, a new line of watches inspired by the essential tool of a seamstress: the pincushion. The collection features five designs, each a rare timepiece with a worldwide limited edition of just 20 pieces.

Gabrielle Chanel was known to wear a pincushion on her wrist while spending time in her atelier on Rue Cambon in Paris. Arnaud Chastaingt, Director of the CHANEL Watchmaking Creation Studio, drew inspiration from this "tool" to create this collection.

Arnaud commented on the collection, "I love the idea of this watch as a functional piece of jewelry adorning a seamstress's wrist. I also appreciate the random arrangement of pins in the cushion. The domed fabric, with pins that aren't necessarily organized, creates a decorative effect that evolves as the seamstress works. I've incorporated the spirit of this tool into a wristwatch."

The watches come in five designs: a camellia flower rendered in lace, an iconic handbag, black tweed embellished with gems, embroidered diamonds, and a jacket pattern from the creation process.

The Pearl motif features a miniature jewelry piece, handcrafted with gems and lacquer on yellow gold, delicately placed on a three-dimensional dial that replicates the texture of black tweed. A border of 120 brilliant-cut diamonds and small gold pearls along the outer edge enhances the motif on the dial.

The Lace motif expresses a camellia flower through lace. The camellia lace, created by skillfully combining three Métiers d'Art techniques, is truly captivating. A hand-engraving technique gives the yellow gold dial a unique texture, covered by a layer of translucent Grand Feu enamel to highlight the delicacy of the carving. The camellia lace pattern is rendered using traditional decal techniques, with delicate layers of decals completing the intricate lace design, sprinkled with small pearls and five diamonds.

The Tweed motif is designed with a pattern from the creation process of a jeweled tweed jacket. The jacket, replicating the texture of tweed, is adorned with 92 diamonds on the braid and small pearls on the buttons. Scissors, thimbles, and measuring tapes—seamstress tools—are delicately and vividly recreated in sculpted gold. The dial's outer edge is finely trimmed with a miniature chain, similar to the ones sewn inside to create the silhouette of a CHANEL jacket.
