Featuring a Tatami Border Band That Blends Beauty and Playfulness

Wako, a long-established company that has been manufacturing cases for major domestic watchmakers, has released its original wristwatch, "WASHIN TATAMI."

Currently, we are accepting crowdfunding support onMakuake, a crowdfunding service for new products and experiences.

A key feature is the use of "tatami borders," a Japanese tradition, for the band.

The fabric from "Takada Textile," a long-established tatami border manufacturer in Okayama founded in 1892, is used, and artisans at a band manufacturer with a workshop in Japan meticulously craft each band by hand.

The case, paired with this band, is made of stainless steel, a material known for its high durability and resistance to processing.

This stainless steel is more scratch-resistant and corrosion-resistant than general stainless steel, making it highly practical. Furthermore, it contains a low amount of nickel, which can cause metal allergies, about one-third the amount found in stainless steel used in medical settings.

Moreover, thanks to the skilled craftsmanship, the case is polished to a mirror finish, giving it a look that hints at its high-quality details.

Comfort is also paramount. To make it as light as possible, the case thickness has been reduced to 6mm, ensuring a stress-free wearing experience.

The case, band, and movement are all made in Japan, resulting in an item that embodies "Made in Japan" quality.

There are four design variations in total. If you choose a return option with "+ band," an interchangeable strap made of Tochigi leather will also be included.

This is a playful timepiece that can be enjoyed with various outfits, from traditional Japanese kimonos to casual styles.
