Fashion Relaunch and Redeployment from This Autumn
Versace, an Italian brand that spans fashion, watches & jewelry, mobile phones, and home wear (such as tableware and interiors). Founder Gianni Versace reigned as one of the three great charismatic figures of Milanese fashion in the 1990s, known as the "3G." He sadly passed away in 1997. As he was a watch enthusiast himself, the watch collection began in 1989. With designs and substance that are bold yet satisfying to watch connoisseurs, they have gained significant popularity, primarily in Europe and America. While Versace's business operations in Japan have been temporarily suspended since the spring of 2009, it has been announced that operations will restart from this autumn season.
Our Top Pick: A Refined Two-Counter Chronograph!
Versace's fashion, crafted with the finest natural materials and exquisite cutting, possesses a vibrancy alongside a subtle, traditional calmness and classic taste, which serves as a delicate accent. The men's and ladies' watch collections share this characteristic. The meticulous construction of details such as the case, bracelet, and dial is likely why it is supported by watch professionals.
At Baselworld 2011, numerous captivating models were unveiled for both men and women, masterfully blending the brand's individuality with the trends of the watch industry.
Among these, the model that OPENERS' male readers should absolutely consider is the "DV ONE," a mechanical chronograph with a sophisticated matte black ceramic case, embodying current trends in Versace's signature style. Instead of a tri-compax (three subdials), it deliberately features a retro bi-compax (two subdials) layout. The brand's iconic Medusa head is placed at the 6 o'clock position, with a date display at 12 o'clock. While an all-black version is available, we particularly recommend the black-navy model, which features a trendy blue IP plating on the bezel, crown, and the screw-lock pushers. The mechanism and the finishing of the details are both impeccable.

Housing a Prestigious Chronograph Movement Known to Connoisseurs!
This authentic chronograph model features a mechanical chronograph movement from Dubois Dépraz, a prestigious Swiss manufacturer that has supplied complex mechanisms, particularly intricate chronographs, to renowned brands for over half a century, housed within a chic, matte-finished black ceramic case. The ceramic bezel is engraved with a tachymeter scale, one of the functions characteristic of a driver's chronograph. A welcome touch is the see-through case back, allowing a visual appreciation of the movement, one of its key attractions.
Automatic winding, 43.5mm diameter matte black ceramic case, black rubber strap, see-through case back, 5 ATM water resistance, 378,000 yen (estimated price). Scheduled for release in August.
