The number "8" was truly a lucky number for Monsieur Dior, evident in the Maison's founding on October 8, 1946, the name of the first collection in 1947 being "En Huit (In Eight)," and the jewelry and watch boutique at Place Vendôme being located at number 8. In Dior VIII, this number is symbolically incorporated into the watch's design. The pyramid-shaped high-tech ceramic on the bracelet and case forms the shape of an "8," and only the "8" index is shown in Roman numerals, showcasing meticulous attention to detail that highlights the lucky number.

The white used in the ceramic is reminiscent of the canvas fabric of toile prototypes, an essential color in haute couture creation. Monsieur Dior himself stated, "White is pure, simple, and goes with everything," making it a crucial color that cannot be overlooked when discussing the Maison.

This new ladies' watch features a white ceramic dial with pink sapphires set in the center, a color Monsieur Dior considered "the color of joy," creating a design that evokes the exhilaration of spring. The face measures a dramatic 38mm, making a striking statement on a woman's wrist. While this watch is a new release for Baselworld 2013, it is available as an exclusive pre-release until March, only at the Ginza boutique in Japan.
