Martin Braun, a leading German watchmaker, established his eponymous brand in 1998.
He later joined the Franck Muller Group, continuing his watchmaking inspired by the grand theme of the "universe."

Unique Watchmaking Influenced by Astronomy

Martin Braun was born in 1964 in Karlsruhe, a center of German industry and culture.
Influenced by his father, who was an engraver, he developed an interest in watches from a young age and enrolled in a renowned watchmaking school in Pforzheim. He excelled as a student, and for his graduation project, he created a complex table clock featuring a date, moon phase, and equation of time display, based on a calendar system used between 1792 and 1806.

This clock became the foundation for his future creative direction, leading him to establish his own brand in 1998.

The "astronomy" elements, such as the equation of time incorporated into his graduation project, and a strong admiration for the "Renaissance style" learned from vintage watches during his time honing his skills at a watch shop. These two elements profoundly influenced his watchmaking. He later unveiled "EOS," a piece that took ten long years to create, which garnered significant attention at Baselworld in 2001.

Martin Braun has continued to create unique timepieces with the grand theme of the "universe." Currently, by collaborating with the Franck Muller Group,
he aims to reach new heights of individuality.

Hyperion

Martin Braun's watches have always borne the names of gods from Greek mythology.
Starting with "EOS" (2001), meaning the Greek goddess of the dawn, his collections include "Boreas" (2003), "Astoraios" (2005), and "Kephalos" (2008). This year's new star is "Hyperion," son of Gaia, the earth goddess, and Uranus, the sky god. Named after the god referred to as the "father of celestial bodies" in Greek mythology,Tourbillonit is.

This new model features a unique retrograde moon phase display that shows the moon's waxing and waning in real-time. It expresses the tourbillon, a long-held ambition, through Martin Braun's distinctive theme of the universe.

The moon phase display reverses its disk upon reaching a full or new moon. It achieves the most accurate display among adjustable moon phases, with an error of one day every 122.5 years.
