G-STEEL with Connected Engine: An analog chronograph featuring large disc hands.
A new addition to the G-STEEL series, which combines different materials, has arrived from the shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch line. The analog chronograph 'GST-B100' (three models), featuring large disc hands, was released on September 15th.
The GST-B100 is the first in the G-STEEL series to adopt an analog display chronograph. The disc hand, positioned at the 9 o'clock mark, is designed with the heavy blades of a jet engine as its motif. As the hand rotates, it clearly indicates elapsed stopwatch time, alarm ON/OFF status, battery level, and more, through changes in color.
This model is equipped with a 'Connected Engine' that connects to a time server via smartphone, enabling accurate time acquisition anywhere in the world and automatic updates for daylight saving and time zone information. Furthermore, the layered guard structure, a hallmark of the G-STEEL series that absorbs shock using a two-layer bezel of different materials, has been renewed. By reconfiguring part placement and integrating cushioning resin parts within the case, a slimmer profile has been achieved. This enhances not only the timekeeping accuracy, a universal value of watches, but also wearability.
The GST-B100X features a bezel made of carbon material, known for its lightweight yet high rigidity. By combining TORAYCA®, a carbon fiber from Toray Industries, Inc., with a resin enhanced by the company's proprietary NANOALLOY® technology, a bezel with excellent shock resistance and a visually beautiful, powerful appearance has been created. The watch face uses sapphire glass, which is resistant to scratches and offers excellent visibility, achieving a balance of strength and beauty.
