From Sony's hybrid smartwatch "wenaTM wrist" series, a collaboration model with Seiko, produced by Yoshikage Kajiwara, is now available.
Sony is releasing the "seiko wena wrist pro Mechanical set -LOWERCASE Edition-", a collaboration model with Seiko, as a new addition to its hybrid smartwatch "wenaTM wrist" series. The design was overseen by Yoshikage Kajiwara.
This marks the second collaboration model with the Seiko brand, which boasts over 130 years of history and has delivered numerous "world firsts," following the wena wrist, the first in the world*1 to incorporate smartwatch functions into a watch band.
This time, Yoshikage Kajiwara of LOWERCASE, known as a pioneer of cross-industry collaborations, supervised the design. The watch expresses a surprising duality: a classic mechanical watch with a vintage feel, which is, in fact, a smartwatch.
It will go on sale in limited quantities starting Saturday, November 23rd, at Sony Stores, Sony's e-commerce site First Flight, and major electronics retailers' e-commerce sites.
