A temporary TUDOR pop-up store opens at Omotesando Hills.

A TUDOR pop-up store opens at Omotesando Hills, running from Wednesday, October 30, 2019, to Tuesday, November 12.

The "Black Bay P01" Also Released on the Same Day

The store's interior is characterized by a sophisticated, substantial finish, primarily in black and the brand's signature red, evoking the "ALL BLACKS," the New Zealand national rugby team and TUDOR ambassador, whose passionate play in the ongoing Rugby World Cup 2019 Japan is capturing global attention.

During this period, TUDOR's signature collections will be on display, including the BLACK BAY P01, which goes on sale from the same day.

Dating back to the 1950s, TUDOR supplied dive watches to the U.S. Navy. In a new watch development that began in 1967, it was necessary to meet standards set by the U.S. government, and based on the latest research, functionality was introduced by bringing together the ingenuity of engineers.

The new model was finally completed with patent applications for features not previously included, but it never became a standard production model, remaining a legendary dive watch.

However, 50 years later, in 2019, it is reborn for the modern era, inheriting the spirit of that time as the [BLACK BAY P01] (meaning "first prototype").

The BLACK BAY P01 combines elements of a dive watch and a sailing watch, with a design that offers a glimpse into the experimental spirit of past projects and a lesser-known facet of TUDOR's history.

This model is not merely a reissue of a past model; it features a bidirectional rotating bezel with a rotation-prevention function enabled by the end link at the 12 o'clock position.

It is equipped with the highly accurate mechanical manufacture Calibre "MT5612," which has obtained COSC Swiss chronometer certification (daily difference of -2 to +4 seconds) and features a diamagnetic silicon balance spring, with a date display at 3 o'clock. Boasting water resistance up to 200m and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, it is a model that combines unparalleled robustness, functionality, and precision, similar to other models.

Like other Black Bay models, it adopts distinctive design elements such as the angular "Snowflake" hour hand that appeared in a 1969 catalog, and the large crown found on early TUDOR dive watches.

The strap is a specially developed hybrid of leather and rubber. The "Snowflake" motif is on the back, with brown leather trimming. In keeping with the spirit of the original prototype, it also comes with movable satin-finished steel end links.
