Citizen CrossSea Joins the Because I am a Girl Campaign
Supporting Girls and Women Worldwide
Citizen is currently running a social campaign called “New TiMe, New Me,” which addresses social issues through watches.
Since 2013, the international NGO Plan International has partnered with Citizen Watch Co., Ltd., donating a portion of the proceeds from Citizen CrossSea sales to support projects that empower girls and women in challenging circumstances in developing countries such as Mali, Pakistan, and Nepal.
From March 2017 to February 2018, a menstrual hygiene management project for girls was implemented in eight villages in the Morang district of Kosi Province, Nepal, to ensure girls could attend classes in a comfortable environment during their periods. Since February 2018, we have supported a water supply and sanitation project in Nepal, enabling girls to dedicate more time to their studies instead of fetching water.
This campaign calls out, “Even if it starts with a small choice, it might just change the world a little.” It aims to inspire people to realize that everyday actions, such as our consumption habits and daily choices, can contribute to the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and become a catalyst for making the world a slightly better place.
