Yoko Katatani
A disciple of Takesan Fukushima, a master of detailed red painting, she is
a rising young red painting artist currently drawing attention.
Her meticulously rendered 'Yukka Mon' (snow flower pattern),
is a classical motif dating back to the Edo period.
The balance of the 'Yukka Mon' and the surrounding space
creates a simple yet charmingly feminine appeal,
exuding a modern sensibility.
