Mohegan Inspire Entertainment Resort (headquartered in Incheon, South Korea; President and CEO Chen Si; hereinafter referred to as "Inspire") announced that its President, Chen Si, has been selected as a recipient of an Industrial Medal for contributions to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) at the "24th Foreign Enterprise Day" event, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency. "Foreign Enterprise Day" has been held annually since 2001 to recognize and encourage companies, organizations, and individuals who have contributed to the Korean economy through FDI.
Inspire has successfully opened on Yeongjong Island through an investment of approximately 2 trillion Korean won, including about $700 million in foreign direct investment (FDI). Chen Si, President of Inspire, was recognized for demonstrating leadership in operating the largest FDI project in Korea's tourism and leisure sector to date, significantly contributing to the development of the domestic tourism industry, which led to this Industrial Medal award.
Chen Si began her career as a management consultant at the strategy consulting firm McKinsey & Company, and subsequently gained experience in hotel, MICE, and casino operations at Las Vegas Sands. In 2015, she served as Vice President of International Marketing for Sands China and Senior Vice President of Legend Development for Sands Macao. She then joined Inspire as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in August 2022, was promoted to President of Mohegan Inspire in August 2023, and currently oversees the strategic planning and performance management of the entire resort.

A Message from Inspire President Chen Si
“It is a great honor to receive this award on behalf of Mohegan Inspire. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all stakeholders who have supported us throughout the successful opening of this project. Inspire will continue to do its utmost to grow with the local economy by creating new employment opportunities and developing the tourism industry to provide high added value, thereby establishing itself as one of Korea's iconic tourism landmarks.”
Inspire, which celebrated its grand opening in March 2024, is an integrated entertainment resort featuring a 5-star hotel with 1,275 rooms, Korea's first multi-purpose arena with a capacity of 15,000 seats, the largest hotel MICE facility in the country, an immersive digital entertainment street with a high-definition screen (Aurora), a glass-domed pool (currently temporarily closed for renovations), a shopping mall, an outdoor entertainment park, and an exclusive casino for foreigners. In just six months since its grand opening, it has recorded approximately 3.5 million cumulative visitors, playing a leading role in attracting both domestic and international tourists to Korea.
Notably, the Inspire Arena, Korea's first multi-purpose arena, has hosted large-scale K-pop events such as the "2023 Melon Music Awards" (in December last year), the "2023 SBS Gayo Daejeon," the "2024 Weverse Con Festival," and the "2024 K-Link Festival." It has also hosted concerts by world-class artists like "Maroon 5" and "Linkin Park," as well as major MICE events, attracting over 400,000 spectators to Yeongjong Island in Incheon. For these achievements, Jamie Jean, General Manager of Inspire Arena, received the "Minister's Award" at the "2024 Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards."
Furthermore, Inspire's success has significantly contributed to the economic revitalization of the Incheon region. As of April 2024, over 80% of Inspire's direct employees are residents of Incheon, playing a crucial role in creating employment opportunities, particularly for young people. In recognition of these achievements, Inspire was selected as a "Model Company in 2024" by the Ministry of Employment and Labor in September 2024 and received the "Presidential Award for Job Creation in 2024."
