A Celebratory Cocktail Born from the Hennessy X.O. Cocktail Competition 2018

On Sunday, June 24th, the "Hennessy X.O. Cocktail Competition 2018" was held at DINING & BAR TABLE 9 TOKYO in Shinagawa Prince Hotel.

Founded in 1765, Hennessy boasts over 250 years of history and continues to assert its presence as the world's most beloved cognac.

This year marked the third iteration of the "Hennessy X.O. Cocktail Competition 2018," where participants compete to create cocktails that highlight the rich, powerful, and exceptionally smooth character of Hennessy X.O.

In a live performance where 20 finalists, who passed the preliminary screening, battled it out, creative and glamorous cocktails were crafted, embodying this year's theme: "Hennessy X.O. Celebrate Cocktail – The Spirit of Victory –" and expressing the joy of sharing with others.

The winner was Hiroshi Okayama from the Main Bar "Fontana di Trevi" at Nagoya Tokyu Hotel.

His original creation, a blend of Hennessy X.O., Cloudy Bay Chardonnay, yuzu syrup, orange zest, and soda, captivated the judges. He shared his joy of winning with the following words:

"For this competition, I created a cocktail with the theme 'Vivra Vivre – A Wonderful Life –,' and I never imagined I would receive such a wonderful award. Thank you very much!"
