Shake Shack, the New York-based burger restaurant, will open its ninth Japanese location at Terraces Mall Shonan on Thursday, May 10th, 2018.

The design concept for "Shake Shack Terraces Mall Shonan" is "Komorebi," inspired by the relaxed, gentle atmosphere of the Shonan Tsujido area, known for its proximity to the sea.

The warm resonance of the uniquely Japanese word "Komorebi" expresses the beauty and subtlety of the landscape.

The two-story building is boldly enveloped in a shell of wooden louvers, inviting attention to the changing sunlight filtering through them.

The exterior's appearance, which shifts with the time of day and weather, is incorporated as a design element, creating a space that is both modern and inviting, true to the Shake Shack spirit.

A highlight for the upcoming season is the rooftop seating, where guests can enjoy meals while feeling the pleasant sunlight and breeze, or play ping pong.
