Krug's one-night-only event, "KRUG FESTIVAL 'Krug Unplugged'"

Krug, the prestige Champagne house, renowned for its uncompromising philosophy of crafting exceptional Champagne that transcends weather variations and earns universal acclaim, hosted a special event for ultimate indulgence: "KRUG FESTIVAL 'Krug Unplugged'" on Thursday, September 28th.

The event featured Chef Chikara Yamada, owner of the fusion creative cuisine restaurant "Yamada Chikara" and Krug Ambassador, alongside pianists Miyuji Kaneko and Yukari Arai, and the Belgian jazz group Eric Legnini Trio.

The evening was crafted to deliver a rare sense of joy, born from the fusion of Krug's "musicality" and its philosophical commitment to "pairing with single ingredients."

At the first venue, "STEINWAY & SONS TOKYO," guests were ushered into a "Piano Room" upon opening a discreet, imposing door, where pianists Miyuji Kaneko and Yukari Arai offered a beautiful performance on Steinway pianos.

Subsequently, guests were escorted to the second venue, a dining area designed to evoke a "forest." As they took their seats, the Eric Legnini Trio began their jazz performance, delicately and passionately expressing the diversity, complexity, and robust character of "Krug Grande Cuvée"—a blend of over 120 wines—through an ensemble of piano, percussion, and cello.

The music invited guests into the world of Krug's pleasure.

Guests then savored this year's featured single ingredient for Krug: "mushrooms."

Chef Chikara Yamada drew playful interpretations from the "mushroom," presenting a series of pairing dishes that created sublime joy, including "Mushroom Burger," "White Truffle Carbonara à la Herbji," and "Crème d'Anjou with Black Truffle Chocolate." These were served alongside "Krug Grande Cuvée (Magnum)" and "Krug Rosé," as well as "Krug 2004," making its debut in Japan.
