Announcing the breweries for "CRAFT SAKE WEEK Tohoku 2018," produced by Hidetoshi Nakata! Fifty select breweries from Tohoku's six prefectures and across Japan will gather.
JAPAN CRAFT SAKE COMPANY, headed by Hidetoshi Nakata, will host "CRAFT SAKE WEEK Tohoku 2018," a "SAKE" event designed to let attendees fully savor the appeal of Japanese sake. Held for five days from March 21 (Wednesday, holiday) to March 25 (Sunday) in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, the event will feature select breweries from Tohoku's six prefectures and across Japan.
"CRAFT SAKE WEEK" is produced by JAPAN CRAFT SAKE COMPANY, led by Hidetoshi Nakata, who has visited over 300 breweries nationwide to create a space where attendees can properly learn about and enjoy high-quality sake.
First held in Roppongi, Tokyo, in 2016, the event expanded in its second year, 2017, not only in Roppongi but also in Hakata, Fukuoka. In Roppongi, it attracted a total of 110,000 visitors over 10 days, and in Hakata, 36,000 visitors over six days.
Throughout the event, in line with Hidetoshi Nakata's wish for attendees to "discover sake they'll love," each day will have a theme, featuring breweries curated to match that theme, representing Japan's finest.
"CRAFT SAKE WEEK Tohoku 2018" will showcase a total of 50 breweries over five days, with 10 breweries featured each day, primarily focusing on those from Tohoku's six prefectures.
This includes "Local Rice Day," gathering breweries that use local rice, and "Junidai Brothers Day," featuring "Junidai" from Yamagata Prefecture, acclaimed as a legendary sake.
Numerous breweries, mainly from Tohoku, will be present.
With breweries renowned nationwide also participating, it's a precious opportunity to encounter sake in ways not usually experienced.
