The highly anticipated ninth installment of the rare "Private Edition" series, which has captivated whisky enthusiasts and collectors since its 2010 release, is now here.
Glenmorangie, known for its elegant single malt whiskies, has now turned its attention to rye whiskey, made from rye grain.
Its elegant taste, popular in America in the early 20th century, captivated the upper classes of the time and was often enjoyed in salons frequented by ladies and gentlemen.
Time passed, and in the late 1990s, Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie's Master Distiller, visited America and encountered delicate and vibrant rye whiskey for the first time.
He discovered a character within its flavor that shared a certain elegance with Glenmorangie, sparking his interest and leading to this special single malt.
And so, in 2018, "Glenmorangie Spìos," a new whisky transcending a century, was born.
It was matured in casks from the early 20th century, the golden age of rye whiskey, and named "Spìos," which means "spice" in Gaelic.
It is a full-bodied whisky where the spiciness of rye whiskey truly stands out, harmonizing with Glenmorangie's signature fresh, herbal flavors and delicate taste.
