Celebrating 130 Years of Friendship Between Japan and Thailand: Thai Airways Invites 32 Japanese Students to the "Ayutthaya "Kizuna" Ekiden 2017"
Thai Airways will invite a total of 32 Japanese university and high school students to the "Ayutthaya Kizuna Ekiden 2017" held in Thailand's ancient capital of Ayutthaya on Sunday, March 12, as the official airline.
The "Ayutthaya Kizuna Ekiden 2017" is a relay event commemorating the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Thailand in 2017, where a total of 400 mixed teams, each including at least one Thai and one Japanese runner, will pass the baton over a 3.4km course around the Ayutthaya Historical Park.
The event starts and finishes at the Ayutthaya Tourist Center in Ayutthaya Province, Thailand, with a course that winds through the "Ayutthaya Historical Park and Historic Sites," a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring famous temples such as Wat Phra Si Sanphet and Wat Mahathat, allowing participants to experience Thai history.
The 32 Japanese university and high school students invited by Thai Airways will form teams with Thai university students studying Japanese, fostering mutual support as they pass the baton.
This is a deeply meaningful event where the baton passed by runners connects not only people but also nations.
