Origami Pay, already supporting QR code payments on iPad, now also accepts sticker QR codes, making it even more accessible.

Origami Pay, already supporting QR code payments on iPad, now also accepts sticker QR codes, making it even more accessible. It is currently used in 20,000 locations, including major convenience stores, department stores, restaurants, drugstores, hair salons, and taxi companies.

Origami Pay, a point-of-sale smartphone payment service, launched in May 2016.

In just about a year, it has expanded to major convenience stores like Lawson, popular restaurant chains such as Kentucky Fried Chicken and Watami Group, and leading department stores and commercial facilities including Hankyu Department Store and Marui Group.

This new method was developed and implemented to provide an easy and cost-effective point-of-sale smartphone payment solution, regardless of whether merchants have equipment like iPads.

The payment process is remarkably simple.

Merchants simply access their Origami Pay merchant page from an internet-connected device, such as a smartphone, enter the payment amount on the input screen, and press the payment button. This action then activates a unique sticker QR code for the transaction.

Customers can then complete the payment by scanning this sticker QR code.

Since the QR code is only activated by the merchant at the time of payment, it is secure against fraudulent activities such as QR code tampering, ensuring a safe and reliable experience for users.

This is a noteworthy new service offering a convenient and rewarding shopping experience.
