From Moke's Hawaii's Nakameguro store, a popular Hawaiian eatery known for its queues, comes the limited-edition "Spirulina Sakura MOCHI," a Hawaiian-style sakura mochi made with the popular superfood spirulina.
Spirulina is a type of edible algae that has existed for about 3 billion years, containing over 50 nutrients. It is also known as the "king of superfoods" due to its potent health and beauty benefits.
This "Spirulina Sakura MOCHI" features a dough kneaded with tapioca flour and spirulina for the cherry leaf portion, making it chewy and highly nutritious down to the leaf. You can enjoy its fluffy, soft texture along with the gyuhi mochi.
The anko (sweet bean paste) filling is made with smooth bean paste incorporating Hawaiian-style roasted coconut, offering a subtly sweet flavor with a gentle hint of coconut aroma.
Additionally, the angel wing decoration served with the sakura mochi is designed based on the Hawaiian-born Angel Wings, making this a visually delightful spring-limited sweet.
Also available for a limited time alongside the sakura mochi is the "Spirulina Coffee/Latte" (right), featuring a slightly bitter cafe latte or coffee topped with a subtly sweet spirulina espuma. The spring-like pastel-colored spirulina cream has a wonderfully fluffy texture.
