Kyoto Yura Hotel Mgallery, a French Luxury Hotel, Opens in Kyoto's Sanjo Area

Upscale Brand "MGallery" Series Makes its Japan Debut

Kyoto Yura Hotel MGallery, operated by Accor, a group based in Paris, France, with over 4,800 hotels and resorts in 100 countries, will open on Friday, April 26, 2019, in Kyoto's Sanjo area.

This marks the first opening in Japan for Accor's upscale hotel brand, MGallery.
Popular among affluent travelers worldwide, the decision to open in Kyoto was made due to its location aligning with the brand's "Time Travel" theme.

Nestled at the foot of Sanjo Ohashi bridge, the hotel is situated in a quintessentially Kyoto location within the city center, offering panoramic views of the Higashiyama mountains and the Kamo River flowing straight from the north.

Bamboo trees planted in the central garden on the basement level extend through the atrium to the first-floor lobby. The garden is topped with a glass skylight, allowing natural light to stream in and create contrast. At night, it is illuminated, offering a different mood than during the day.

Tatami mats are partially installed in all rooms. Additionally, some of the wallpaper features art using Nishijin-ori textiles. While the rooms are modern Western-style, the interior design also incorporates Japanese elements characteristic of Kyoto.
