Making its debut in Japan, New York’s acclaimed barber salon, LUDLOW BLUNT, has arrived in Daikanyama.
As the barber style gains popularity as a trend in the grooming industry, New York’s acclaimed barber salon, LUDLOW BLUNT, has opened in Daikanyama this month.
LUDLOW BLUNT is a renowned establishment with its flagship store located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York, a hub for art and fashion trends.
With its masterful techniques and a space that evokes the vintage charm of a bygone American era, the salon continues to captivate prominent musicians, fashion industry figures, Hollywood stars, and politicians, leading the barber scene in New York.
At the Daikanyama location, Koichi Shinoda, who trained at the New York flagship and was recognized by Russell Manley, and Yuichi Baba will serve as master barbers, offering Brooklyn-style "hospitality" through expert services such as cuts, shaves, and beard design.
The interior faithfully recreates the Brooklyn salon, with every element—from the chairs and cabinets to the decorative items, fixtures, and interior materials—directly imported from New York.
In addition to a private VIP room, which is not available at the New York salon, a vintage-style café that embodies the Brooklyn image is attached. The establishment will operate as an "adult social club," distinct from a typical barbershop, hosting events and workshops.
Furthermore, Kazuki Odaka of Adjustable Costume designed the staff aprons and uniforms, drawing inspiration from 1920s-30s uniforms and vintage clothing for the original designs.
These uniforms will also be sold in-store and are scheduled to be re-imported to the New York flagship.
Moreover, leveraging its unique worldview, which is unlike anything found in Japan, the space will be available for photo and film shoots.
