Palace Hotel Tokyo and FOOD LOSS BANK collaborate on a new product, "Cakes Salés," made with food-loss ingredients.
Palace Hotel Tokyo is now selling a new product, "Cakes Salés," made with food-loss ingredients, at its in-house pastry shop, "Sweets & Deli."
Flavorful Cakes Salés Born from Discarded Vegetables
Palace Hotel Tokyo has collaborated with FOOD LOSS BANK, an organization aiming for environmental improvement through food loss reduction, for the first time as a hotel. The "Cakes Salés" are a new product, created with the cooperation of FOOD LOSS BANK, that generously utilizes fresh vegetables that would have been discarded due to cosmetic imperfections or failure to meet distribution standards.
The "Cakes Salés," which can be enjoyed like a savory snack, are also perfect as a simple breakfast. In addition to the vegetables that were destined for disposal, rich Comté cheese, bacon, sun-dried tomatoes, and black olives are combined to create a hearty and satisfying dish. We invite you to savor this luxurious culinary experience, bringing the taste of the hotel into your home.
Furthermore, Palace Hotel Tokyo is actively engaged in various food loss reduction initiatives, such as selling products made from cake trimmings generated during the manufacturing process and offering unsold bread at special prices to employees. We look forward to their future endeavors.
