Approximately 1,400 types of sake gathered. The world's largest sake event, "Sake Fair 2018 ~The Day the Most Sake Gathers in the World~," was held.

The Japan Sake Brewers Association Central Council, representing approximately 1,750 sake breweries nationwide, will host "Sake Fair 2018 ~The Day the Most Sake Gathers in the World~" (Sake Fair 2018) at Sunshine City, Ikebukuro, on Saturday, June 16th.

Sake Fair 2018 is an event comprising two parts: the "106th National New Sake Appraisal for the 2017 Brewing Year Public Tasting" and the "12th National Sake Fair."

This event, organized by the Japan Sake Brewers Association Central Council, is the world's largest in terms of the sheer variety of sake offered. Its growing popularity each year stems from it being the only opportunity for the general public to participate.

As one of the world's largest sake events, it offers a valuable opportunity not only to taste sake but also to deepen your understanding of it.

Approximately 411 award-winning sakes* will be arranged by region. With an original sake cup and booklet provided, guests can enjoy tasting using a dropper.

Brewing Corner: Displays of sake rice, koji, and other ingredients, along with panels and videos introducing the brewing process.
Japan National Research Institute of Brewing Corner: Panel exhibits explaining the National New Sake Appraisal system and various brochures highlighting the appeal of sake.
Q&A Corner: Answers provided on the spot for questions ranging from expert inquiries to simple curiosities about sake.

Exhibitor Booths: Each prefectural sake brewers association will offer tastings and sales of sake and sake-based liqueurs centered around specific themes, alongside tasting and sales of local delicacies.
Tasting Challenge Corner: A tasting competition to match seven different types of sake.
Brewery Watercolor Sketch Corner: Exhibition of watercolor paintings depicting breweries from various regions.
Cheers Digital Photo Contest Corner: Exhibition of award-winning entries from a photo contest featuring people toasting with sake.
Calligraphy Art Display Corner: Exhibition of 21 calligraphy pieces featuring the word "Kokushu" (national liquor), from former Prime Minister Ohira, who first used the term, to Prime Minister Abe.
Synchronized "Cheers with Sake!" Event
At the signal from Sake Stylist Ritsuko Shimada and Miss Sake 2018, all participants will raise their glasses in a simultaneous toast.
Raffle Corner: Prizes from various prefectural sake brewers associations, breweries, and more.
