The 73rd vintage, "Grand Vintage 2009," and the 42nd vintage rosé, "Grand Vintage Rosé 2009," will be released sequentially starting in Spring 2018.

Moët & Chandon's Grand Vintage is crafted exclusively from the grapes of a particular year, when exceptional quality grapes thrived thanks to favorable weather conditions.

Aged for a significantly longer period of seven years than the legally mandated three, it is released when its taste reaches its most captivating point.

Through the Chef de Cave's (Head Winemaker's) free-spirited creativity and artistry, the assemblage, with its emphasis on the ratio of the three grape varietals, allows the charm and individuality of that year's grapes to be expressed without reservation. This unique taste has been revered by connoisseurs as the ultimate champagne due to its rarity.

In 2009, ideal meteorological conditions, surpassing those of the previous year, yielded grapes that were healthy, perfectly ripe, and reached an exceptional level of maturity, resulting in a vintage champagne with perfectly balanced sugar and acidity.

The red grapes achieved a fine balance, while the Chardonnay ripened to a slightly fuller degree, possessing a potential similar to the 2002 vintage champagne.
