The Toranomon-Azabudai Project, a vision for the future of urban communities, releases its concept movie 'Living in the City.'

The Toranomon-Azabudai Project, a vision for the future of urban communities, releases its concept movie 'Living in the City.' This urban regeneration project has been in development for 30 years.

What does it mean to 'live in the city'? What do we truly need?

To live, to begin, to meet, to connect, to love, to laugh, to play, to learn, to work, to gather, to relax, to create. The film physically expresses the human activities that the Toranomon-Azabudai Project will foster, juxtaposing them with a data-driven depiction of the future city currently taking shape. It declares Mori Building's vision for the future relationship between people and cities: 'THE FUTURE TOKYO COMMUNITY.'
The film was produced under the creative direction of Yuya Furukawa and Kaoru Sugano, who have won numerous advertising awards both in Japan and internationally, including the Cannes Lions. Koichiro Tsujikawa, a filmmaker active in commercials, music videos, and short films, served as director.
The choreography was handled by ELEVENPLAY, led by MIKIKO, renowned for her work with artists like Perfume and her global stage performances. The music was created by artist Seiho, and the narration was provided by Azumi of wyolica.

Living in the city.
What drives people's actions?
Why do people seek connection?
When do people feel a sense of comfort?

What should a city be to facilitate this?
There is no end to these questions, nor is there a single answer.

Yet, just as every great city began as a small community...
...the essence of a city has always resided within the people who gather there.

Imagining the future of cities from a human perspective reveals their ideal form.

Living in the city means living with respect, as human beings.
Living in the city means living creatively, inspiring one another.
Living in the city means connecting diverse strengths to expand human potential.
How, then, should cities evolve for the future?

Let us now consider a new way for Tokyo to be a community.
Let us now rebuild new relationships between people, starting from the heart of Tokyo.

We can enrich our lives by connecting with people and nature.
An environment like a 'public square' is precisely what we need to live in the future.

THE FUTURE TOKYO COMMUNITY
2023. Toranomon-Azabudai. A new community is born, redefining the city through human activity.
