The text-based communication app 'Jiffcy' ushers in a new era of digital interaction.
Anaguma, a company specializing in app development, has announced a service update for its text-based communication app, 'Jiffcy'. Starting from the 19th, a group call feature will be added, allowing text conversations, previously limited to one-on-one, to be used by groups of up to four people.
Group Call Feature Added: Simultaneous Conversations for Up to Four People Now Possible
'Jiffcy' is a novel communication app that enables real-time conversations through text input. Unlike conventional messaging tools, it establishes a connection in a call state, creating a sense of presence akin to face-to-face interaction, as if both parties are constantly there.
In the post-pandemic era, it has become a popular SNS for genuine communication that feels like being together, even when apart, particularly among Gen Z and Gen Alpha students. Recently, it received the Grand Prize at the Nikkei Trendy 'Startup Award 2024'.
A key feature of this app is that the characters being typed appear on the other person's screen in real-time, one by one. This allows even the sender's thoughts and emotional shifts before finishing a message to be conveyed, making it easier to transmit raw emotions in real-time through on-screen exchanges, especially in situations where one wants to communicate quickly without speaking or in environments where speaking is not possible.
The newly added group call function maintains the existing sense of 'presence' while enabling simultaneous conversations among multiple people. By facilitating speedy communication within groups, more meaningful interactions are expected, particularly among younger generations seeking deeper connections.
The company also plans to add a stamp feature in an upcoming update, aiming to expand its functionality to allow for more personalized and casual communication by increasing the options for emotional expression.
In today's world where much of our communication is digital, the real-time text conversation method seems poised to unlock new possibilities and appeal in digital communication.
'Jiffcy' is currently available for download on the App Store.
An Android version is also planned for release.
