Dinner Event Report: Dom Pérignon and Alain Ducasse

An exclusive dinner event, a collaboration between Dom Pérignon and French master chef Alain Ducasse, was held in Tokyo over two days: Monday, June 25, and Tuesday, June 26, 2018.

Born to grace the tables of royalty within the spiritual environment of an abbey, Dom Pérignon has long been associated with the meticulous and refined world of gastronomy, alongside the solemn tranquility of the Champagne's underground cellars.

The rich world of the latest vintage, 2000, of "Dom Pérignon P2"—embodying Champagne Dom Pérignon's philosophy of "vintage" and "long aging"—is perfectly complemented by the creative culinary world of French master chef Alain Ducasse.

At this exclusive dinner, guests first enjoyed a solo tasting of Dom Pérignon P2 2000, followed by a series of dishes bearing Alain Ducasse's signature.

The dinner showcased a unique culinary vision, utilizing ingredients distinctive to Japan such as brill, yuzu, kuruma prawn, and miso, alongside French delicacies like caviar and European lobster.

Tender meats and meltingly soft vegetables... various textures stimulated the guests' five senses.

The delicate, brilliant effervescence of Dom Pérignon P2 2000 permeated the dinner from start to finish, illuminating the champagne's characteristics from every angle and creating a rich, playful experience that defied convention.
