Sunshine Aquarium, home to the world's most deceptive creatures, hosts "The Monstrous Exhibition"!

From June 28 (Thursday) to November 25 (Sunday), Sunshine Aquarium will host "The Monstrous Exhibition," a special exhibition themed around creatures that "transform"—those that camouflage themselves or change their colors and patterns as they grow.

This special exhibition will feature approximately 30 species of "monstrous" creatures, an all-star lineup from around the world. Additionally, special "monstrous" menu items will be available for a limited time at the "Kanaloa Cafe" within the aquarium.

1. Approximately 30 species of "monstrous" creatures, an all-star lineup from around the world, will be exhibited.
Focusing on "mimicry," where creatures transform to blend in, the exhibition will showcase the African collared-owl, which thins its body to camouflage among tree branches to protect itself from predators; the regal angelfish, whose patterns change as it grows from juvenile to adult for protection; and the banded sea snake, which uses patterns that mimic venomous creatures to ward off enemies.
Within the venue, divided into four areas, there will be tanks where visitors can try to spot the camouflaged creatures themselves.
Some "monstrous" creatures are so adept at camouflage that they are difficult to find, earning them the highest "mimicry rank" certified by Sunshine Aquarium: "god-level" monsters. Both children and adults will be captivated trying to spot them.

2. Special exhibition limited menu items will be sold at Sunshine Aquarium's "Kanaloa Cafe."
• Leaf-tailed Gecko Keema Curry
• Price | 885 yen (tax included)
This dish features keema curry topped with burdock chips resembling tree branches, garnished with chervil to represent leaves at the tips of the branches. Dried parsley is sprinkled over the top, creating a scene where a gecko, cut from cheddar cheese, climbs the rice and hides among the branches. The keema curry has a fruity flavor, enhanced with chutney and apple.

• Leaf Fish? Jelly
• Price | 464 yen (tax included)
Served in a goldfish-bowl-shaped container, this dessert features a layer of chocolate resembling sand, filled with aiyu jelly, and infused with mint syrup for a refreshing, freshwater ambiance. Within this, a chocolate piece shaped like a leaf fish swims, while the surface is adorned with nuts (frozen grapes), mint leaves, and chocolate branches to evoke a freshwater scene.
