A "1 million yen" 18-karat gold diamond button, passed down through the founding family of a long-established Osaka menswear tailor, is unveiled for the first time in a limited release.
To commemorate the 115th anniversary of Watanabe To Shoten, a specialist in suit linings and buttons, and the first anniversary of "Tanimachi Button," Japan's only specialty suit button store located in Chuo-ku, Osaka, the "Diamond 18-Karat Gold Button Passed Down Through the Founding Family of a Long-Established Menswear Tailor" will be publicly displayed for the first time for a limited period starting Friday, September 1st, at "Tanimachi Button."
The founder, Tōgorō Watanabe, was a peddler of men's suit linings and also a lover of high-quality buttons.
This spirit has been passed down through generations, and within the founding family's safe lie treasures that tell the history of menswear, collected by successive presidents—items that have never left the family.
To mark this anniversary year, the "Diamond 18-Karat Gold Button," passed down through the founding family, will be specially exhibited.
The diamonds on this button come with a certificate of authenticity and are valued at one million yen (excluding tax) for the single set.
The exhibition will run from Friday, September 1st, to Saturday, September 30th.
Why not immerse yourself in the brilliance of 18-karat gold alongside Tanimachi Button's collection of over 500 types of buttons?
