The 9th Shibuya Fashion Week will be held around Shibuya Station from Thursday, March 15 to Sunday, March 25, 2018.
Shibuya Fashion Week was first held in March 2014, as part of the "International Cultural Tourism City: Shibuya" initiative aimed at establishing Shibuya as a global tourism hub.
Major commercial facilities united for the first time, developing promotions that leveraged each facility's unique characteristics under the theme "MADE IN SHIBUYA."
The main event, "SHIBUYA RUNWAY," features fashion shows set against the backdrop of the Shibuya cityscape.
Young designers who have previously showcased their collections at "SHIBUYA RUNWAY" are increasingly gaining opportunities to participate in "Amazon Fashion Week TOKYO," one of the world's five major fashion weeks. Consequently, it is gaining attention as a "launchpad for emerging designers."
On Thursday, March 15, the opening day of the campaign, "SHIBUYA RUNWAY" will take place at Shibuya Casting, a creative hub established in April 2017.
Ambassador Airi Matsui will also make an appearance, adding glamour to the main event.
Fashion director Yoshimasa Hobashi will also appear as a navigator.
