The business brand D’URBAN will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2020. To mark this milestone, actors Kōtarō Yoshida and Tatsuya Fujiwara have been appointed as promotional advertising characters. D’URBAN debuted in 1970 as a national brand from Japan. Since its inception, the brand has garnered the support of many business professionals with its contemporary styling and high quality backed by exceptional craftsmanship. In 1971, the brand gained significant attention by featuring Alain Delon, the renowned French actor and global top star. In 1996, in response to Japan's hot and humid climate, D’URBAN collaborated with Nippon Keori to develop the "Super Cool Biz Clothes." This innovation, "New Asian Wear 'MONSOON,'" achieved coolness not only in the outer fabric but also in the interlining and lining, ensuring shape retention while maintaining a soft yet crisp feel and lightness, earning high praise for its functionality. For half a century since its debut, D’URBAN has consistently anticipated the needs of the times and continued to take on new challenges.

As D’URBAN approaches its 50th anniversary in 2020, the brand has set "Inheritance" as its promotional concept, embodying the continuation of a professional spirit in suit making. The letters "D," "N," and "A" within the D’URBAN logo represent the DNA of suit making passed down through 50 years. Furthermore, the initial "D’" signifies the passion and lineage of suit creation. Thus, a commemorative 50th-anniversary logo mark, featuring a red "D’" mark, has been established to symbolize the promotion.

For the promotional visuals, actors Kōtarō Yoshida and Tatsuya Fujiwara, who have frequently co-starred and share a close personal relationship, were chosen as advertising characters. Their selection was based on a desire to authentically capture the admiration and respect found in their real-life dynamic as senior and junior colleagues, reflecting their genuine bond as actors.

The new D’URBAN advertising visuals, starring Kōtarō Yoshida and Tatsuya Fujiwara, were shot on a theater stage, a shared space for the two actors, aiming to capture the atmosphere between them rather than merely presenting suits on mannequins. The visuals not only highlight the appeal of D’URBAN suits but also convey the personalities of the two actors. Kōtarō Yoshida is depicted in a commanding style, wearing a double-breasted suit made of bird's-eye fabric. Tatsuya Fujiwara, in contrast, is featured in a striking peak-lapel suit of the same bird's-eye material, exuding a glamorous impression.
Coinciding with the release of the new advertising visuals, an interview movie featuring the two actors was also unveiled. Kōtarō Yoshida commented, "The D’URBAN commercials I saw as a boy are still etched in my memory. It's unbelievable that I, now 60 years old, am wearing D’URBAN suits for a brand that continues to thrive. I hope it continues to race forward as Japan's leading suit brand." Tatsuya Fujiwara added with strong resolve, "D’URBAN has forged ahead with a long history. Keeping the theme of 'Inheritance' in mind, I am determined to do my best to spread the appeal of D’URBAN to many people."
