Drive a Volvo with Your Smartphone! An Unprecedented Test Drive Experience

Volvo Car Japan is currently offering "VOLVO XC40 REMOTE TEST DRIVE," a new content experience that allows users to test drive the compact city SUV "XC40" via smartphone.

A miniature XC40 car navigates a diorama set up inside the concept store "Volvo Studio Aoyama," remotely controlled by a smartphone. The miniature car is equipped with a driver's-eye view camera, linked to the screen on the smartphone, offering a novel test drive experience that makes you feel as if you're actually driving.

Furthermore, this content recreates the "Large Animal Detection" function, a world-first feature actually installed in the XC40. During the test drive, you can experience the advanced safety feature where automatic braking is activated upon detecting a large animal in the vehicle's path.

The diorama features a crossover course that showcases both a cityscape with towering buildings and vast natural landscapes. Roads and traffic signals are also realistically reproduced, allowing for an immersive driving experience.
