Create your own touring movie with a drone using Honda's BIRDrone Touring.

Honda will host "Honda BIRDrone Touring," Japan's first drone photography event for motorcycle riders, in Aso, Kumamoto—a mecca for bikers—on Saturday, November 9. Riders from around the world are invited to participate. Applications are now open. In conjunction with this event, Honda has released a dynamic promotional video, filmed entirely by drone, capturing the thrill of riding through Aso's spectacular landscapes.

November 9: Aso, Kumamoto, the biker's paradise. Apply now.

Aso is renowned among motorcycle riders as a sacred destination, boasting some of Japan's most breathtaking touring routes. The "Y-LANE Highway," "Aso Panorama Line," and "Milk Road" were ranked first, second, and fourth, respectively, in the "Best Scenic Roads Ranking 2019" (by BikeJIN magazine).

However, tourist numbers in Kumamoto have been on the decline since the earthquake in 2016.

As a leading motorcycle manufacturer with a production base in Kumamoto, Honda is hosting this event with the aim of revitalizing the region and bringing together motorcycle enthusiasts from across the globe.

We often hear riders express a desire to have their beloved bikes photographed while out on a ride.

This event fulfills that wish, offering riders a chance to capture lasting memories of their motorcycles and touring adventures.

During the photography session, drones will capture aerial footage of riders and their cherished motorcycles navigating the stunning Aso scenery. Participants will receive the captured data as a gift.

The photography will be handled by "Kyushu Airshots," a team specializing in aerial cinematography using drones and multicopters. This is a unique opportunity to experience professional drone photography, so we encourage you to apply.

Applications are being accepted via Honda's official Twitter account until 11:59 PM on Wednesday, October 16.

The promotional video showcases the experience of riding through Aso's magnificent landscapes, with the entire film shot using drones. The dynamic footage, featuring drones soaring like birds amidst the vast natural beauty, is a highlight. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26Xgwh9Mv5c&feature=youtu.be

The shoot utilized three drones: a main camera drone, a micro-drone, and a lighting drone, demonstrating the use of drones not only for cameras but also for illumination.

"Kyushu Airshots" also managed the filming for this event. The CRF1000L Africa Twin is featured navigating the lush mountain passes. Through the imagery of this globally popular motorcycle, we aim to share the allure of Aso with the world.

Additionally, Honda has announced "Honda Motorcycle Homecoming," a fan event bringing together motorcycle riders from around the world, to be held at the Honda Motorcycle Japan Kumamoto Factory on Saturday, October 12.

Last year's event was a great success, attracting approximately 2,000 motorcycle fans from both Japan and abroad.

We are preparing a variety of attractions, including exclusive factory tours, test rides, classic motorcycle displays, and talk shows, to further enhance Aso, Kumamoto's reputation as a biker's haven.
